She's back - Philippa Eilhart by LucasParolin She's back - Philippa Eilhart by LucasParolin
I guess this now stand as an Witcher fanart but it was a failed test for CD Projekt Red that I did in 2015.

I had a lot of work to do that month, tons of stuff to finish and I had to slip an art test between all the stuff I was doind...

One question remains, if I took the test when I had more time... would I be able to do a better job?

Absolutely stunning work. Definitely something to be proud of, even if you didn't get the job.

Love it. I'm not a big Philippa Fan but this art is amazing :)
Read the text under it. Sad that this isn't the Gwent desing. Looks better than what we have now :)

You talked to CDPR again? maybe for the final game. Cause for now it's still beta...

Tell me if it worked. I play the game, would be happy to see your art there :)
And... there are some characters which have two/more cards. Maybe your idea can be the second Philippa card :)

The detail in this is great, especially with the magic. I think this piece captures how formidable Phil is and if I saw that on a tarot card I don't think I would be able to resist such a card.

I was also asked to do an art test for them for the same position. It definitely sucked to wait almost a month as well just to hear it wasn't going to work out. But we live and learn, and in it's own way, it motivates me to push forward, keep trying, and hopefully prepare more for the next time. I wish the best of luck to your friend. I'm sure he's working with a great team.

And great work on your illustration by the way. I thought it was official art for the Gwent game.

Cheers.

I hate this arrogant art testing for "free" ... unfortunatly there are not less companys that follow that kind of procedure. It's everything but fair, not professional and disrespects the artists, their time and their work.
You've done a very good job here, respect!

I understand why it happen though, specially when you want fly someone to your studio. You wanna find the right person. This time I knew it was an unpaid test and I decided to take it. I think in this case is matter to chose which one worth the shot. Life is about taking risks too and some worth it.
The worst was a time a guy pretended he was commissioning me for a freelance and it was a test. He was doing that to several artists and chose the one that delivered what he wanted... Man... That time...

With this, they didn't hire you ?? OMG !!  It's their loss man :) This is in my opinion one of the best Philippa artworks I've seen and way better work than most of CDPR employees

I can only wish good luck on next adventures :)

Thanks a lot for your opinion man! In the end I figure I didn't want to move to Warsaw anyway, and I wanna focus more on Concept than illustrations, this os from 2015, I have more stuff to be posted from 2016, and those are more concpet oriented, which I've been enjoying much more.
Only thing I feel that could be different is that I would be happy to freelance for them. Maybe in the future I guess
